Atlantic Theater Company announce extension for The Mother
Florian Zeller's The Mother will now play its final performance on April 13, 2019.
Ahead of the first performance, Atlantic Theater Company has announced that The Mother will be extended for one week.
Written by Florian Zeller, the play was originally in French and titled La Mère. It was later translated into English by Christopher Hampton in 2015, with the English translation first performed in London that same year.
The Mother will begin previews at Atlantic's Linda Gross Theater on February 20, 2019, before an official opening on March 11, 2019. With the newly-announced extension, the play will now run through to April 13, 2019.
Synopsis: "Can one love one’s son too much? Anne has given everything to the family she’s built. Now the years have gone by, and her children have grown up and have lives and loves of their own, leaving her alone in a world that is crumbling around her. The Mother is a captivating and disquieting new play about a woman grasping for stability that will leave you questioning the very nature of reality."
