Zelda at the Oasis to close on 15 Feb 2013

P. H. Lin's new drama, Zelda at the Oasis will end its 14 week run at St. Luke's Theatre on 15 Feb 2013. The play opened at St. Luke's Theatre on 4 Dec 2012, following previews from 16 Nov 2012, where it had been selling tickets through to 01 Mar 2013.

Zelda at the Oasis opened to poor reviews: A scattershot biographical portrait (New York Post); The show is limited and diffuse in the telling and never really jells (Back Stage).

Directed by Andy Sandberg, Zelda at the Oasis feature Edwin Cahill and Gardner Reed.

The play tells the story of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald, wife of legendary American novelist, F. Scott Fitzgerald, who wants nothing more than to be recognized as an artist in her own right. Two things stand in her way: a growing mental instability and the overbearing shadow of her husband.

On this magical night in the 1930's, Zelda discovers The Club Oasis, a New York City bar where she has escaped to drink alone...until a unique and unexpected friendship is forged with an aspiring musician who plays piano and tends bar at the Oasis.

The creative team includes sets by Colin McGurk, costumes by Dustin Cross, lighting by Grant Yaeger and sound by Daniel Melnick.
