Producing artistic director Lisa McNulty and managing director Michael Sag have announced the line-up of work for the Spring 2021 season at WP Theater. All events are free, and designed to lift the work of Women+ theater artists.

Ahead of the season, McNulty said: ""We are thrilled to dive into 2021 with a slate of offerings that take unique advantage of the creative potential of virtual space, and which are in real conversation with the current moment... we are so grateful to continue to be able to support our incredible community of Women+ artists and to share work that tells the story of who we are as a society, and how the creative voice prevails in the face of any obstacle."

The season will begin with The Nourish Project, an immersive live event that asks how individuals can nourish themselves creatively. During variety performances, musicians, poets and visual designers will present their latest works, in what press material states will "replenish the soul and invite people to find a moment of rest in a weary world." The Nourish Project runs from January 28 - February 7.

Dancers from New York City's Hunter College will star in Keep Moving, following women who attempt to keep rehearsing and training when there's no studios to work in. Keep Moving will be available to stream from February 15 - 28.

Red Bull Theater and WP Theater collaborate for a live, online reading of MJ Kaufman's Galatea. Based on John Lyly's Gallathea, two young women who have been accused of flooding a village disguise themselves as boys to hide away. Ty Defoe, Jo Lampert, Eve Lindley, Aneesh Sheth, Futaba Shioda and TL Thompson will star in performances, running from March 22 - 26.

Songwriting duo The Kilbanes will present their rock opera as part of the season, available to stream throughout April and May 2021. Titled Weightless, the production follows two sisters who sacrifice their lives for the hopes of reuniting. Kate Kilbane and Dan Moses star in their own work, alongside Lila Blue, Kofy Brown, Dan Harris, and Joshua Pollock.
