Mon 8 Nov 2004 "Wonderful Town" now is booking to 20 Feb 2005 The musical Wonderful Town is now taking bookings to 20 Feb 2005 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Wonderful Town has music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green and book by Joseph Fields & Jerome Chodorov The cast includes: *Brooke Shields (Ruth Sherwood), Jennifer Hope Wills (Eileen Sherwood), Gregg Edelman (Robert Baker), Nancy Kathryn Anderson (Helen), David Margulies (Appopolis), Raymond Jaramillo McLeod (Wreck) (*Brooke Shields is currently scheduled to be in Wonderful Town until January 2, 2005. It is not know if she will extend beyond this period). The story of Eileen and Ruth, two sisters who are fresh off the bus from Ohio and are bursting with dreams of making it big, falling in love and living happily ever after in New York City It is directed & choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, and produced by Barry & Fran Weissler / Roger Berlind The show opened on 23 Nov 2003 and received excellent notices from the critics: BEN BRENTLEY of the NEW YORK TIMES says �Ms. Murphy is giving one of the most dazzlingly accomplished comic performances that you're ever likely to see in a musical.� CLIVE BARNES of NEW YORK POST says �Broadway lives, and once more it's a wonderful town.� MICHAEL KUCHWARA of ASSOCIATED PRESS says "Impossible to resist."
