Who Will Carry the Word at Center Stage

The Red Fern Theatre Company presents a benefit performance of Charlotte Delbo's Who Will Carry the Word, directed by Melanie Moyer Williams, on behalf of 'Remember the Women Institute', playing at Center Stage from 21 Feb - 2 Mar 2008.

Who Will Carry the Word: Based upon the true story of Charlotte Delbo, a member of the French resistance who spent nearly three years in concentration camps, the play depicts the lives of 23 women while they share a barracks in Auschwitz. Their singular goal is to keep the strongest of them alive so that someone can share what they had experienced with the world.

Melanie Moyer Williams and Emilie E. Miller founded The Red Fern Theatre Company to produce socially conscious plays while partnering with philanthropies whose missions assist those affected by the issues addressed in the play. The Red Fern Theatre Company selected the 'Remember the Women Institute' because of its special emphasis on women in context of the Holocaust and its aftermath, including post-World War II immigration.

'Remember the Women Institute', a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that conducts and encourages research and cultural activities that contribute to including women in history.
