White's Lies closes earlier than scheduled
Ben Andron's comedy White's Lies starring Betty Buckley and Tuc Watkins, plays its final performance at New World Stages / Stage 4 on 13 Jun 2010. The show had been selling tickets through to 4 Jul 2010.
White's Lies opened at New World Stages / Stage 4 on 6 May 2010, following previews from 12 Apr. When the show closes it will have played 26 previews & 46 regular performances.
Despite the early closing notice producer Aaron Grant said, "I'm very proud of the work we've accomplished with a sensational cast & creative team. Audiences have been responding with great enthusiasm & there's already been talk of productions in Washington DC, Germany & a UK Tour. We look forward to further developments, be they on stage, screen or television."
White's Lies: Some guys are scared stiff at the prospect of settling down, getting married, having kids...and Joe White is no exception. He's a divorce lawyer, representing one of his many ex-girlfriends, and above all else, he's a bachelor who wouldn't have it any other way. So when his mother desperately wants him to start a family, he'll do the next best thing: make one up. What could go wrong? Only love...
www.newyorktheatre.com critic, Tulis McCall, wrote in her review of the show: "It is a flimsy idea for a plot and the script makes it even flimsier. The text is as think as a slice of prosciutto and definitely not as tasty."
Directed by Bob Cline, White's Lies also featured Scott Patterson, Peter Scolari, Christy Carlson Romano, Rena Strober and Jimmy Ray Bennett.
