What the new theatre vaccine guidelines mean for kids

Beginning May 1, 2022, Broadway vaccine mandates were relaxed. Whereas all Broadway theatres used to require proof of vaccination, Broadway shows no longer require proof of vaccination for adults or children. Mandatory mask-wearing was lifted on July 1, 2022, at which point masks became optional for audiences of all ages at most shows.

Mask requirements for kids at family-friendly shows

Right now, no Broadway and Off-Broadway shows for kids have vaccine or masking requirements for audience members of any age. This article will be updated if any shows implement Covid-19 safety protocols for children.

Mask requirements for kids at other Broadway shows

Though certain shows are specifically marketed toward kids, most Broadway shows will likely have kids in the audience. No Broadway shows currently require children or adults to wear masks, but some shows will schedule specific mask-mandated performances for those who prefer to watch a show with other masked people. This article will be updated with mask information for kids and adults if any shows implement such performances.
