Waiting: a Trilogy presents three moving stories about people who wait together. In The Hospital, a lawyer lends comfort to a co-worker she barely knows. In The Bus Stop, a young teacher stands by a total stranger. In The Tower an office employee refuses to leave a good friend.

The people who wait act out of deep, spiritual, religious and personal values. And in the end, their waiting becomes a gift that changes the life of both the giver and the receiver.

Paulanne Simmons is a playwright and journalist. Waiting: a Trilogy is her third play for Theater for the New City. 'The Volunteer' was produced in 2001 and 'Basketball Lessons' was produced in 2003.

Starring in Waiting: a Trilogy are: Pierre O'Farrell (Vinnie/Tom),Stephanie Lynn Hakun (Ethel/Heidi),Deborah Paulter (Brenda), Joe Salgo (Doctor/Officer Holmes), and Patrick Toon (Abdul/Aaron).

Waiting: a Trilogy is directed by directed by Ted Thompson and has set design by James Greco, lighting by Carrie Yacono and sound by Dave Nolan Audio.
