The Tumor Humor Fund presents Two-mur Humor: He's Malignant; She's Benign, by Jim Tooey and Valerie David, at the Theater at The Center For Architecture from 11 - 25 Aug 2007 as part of FringeNYC.
The Tumor Humor Fund presents Two-mur Humor: He's Malignant; She's Benign is loosely based on the true stories of authors, Jim Tooey's pituitary brain tumor & Valerie David's diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and follows their personal struggles to recover, as well as their crazy & hilarious experiences. Their life affirming stories are told through the eyes of two characters, Paul & Lisa, as we follow their amazing journey through wacky hospital roommates, health insurance debacles, experiences with family & friends & life themes on the road to recovery.
Directed by Charles Messina, Two-mur Humor: He's Malignant; She's Benign features Jim Tooey and Kelly Chippendale.
Jim Tooey and Kelly Chippendale established the non-profit organization, The Tumor Humor Fund, with other co-founding members Yvonne Sayers & Valerie David. The mission of the fund is to help children & their families who are affected by cancer, to relieve the debt associated with medical bills.
"Through our play & organization," stated Jim Tooey, "our goal is to inspire & give hope to patients, as well as their families & friends. Cancer & any life-threatening illness is not a death sentence. One can survive & still thrive."
