Tracy Letts's new play The Minutes heads to Broadway
It has been announced that Tracy Letts's new play The Minutes, will have its Broadway premiere in the spring of 2018 following a world premiere at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre.
Directed by Tony Award-winner Anna D. Shapiro, The Minutes will begin Broadway performances at a yet-to-be-announced venue on Tuesday February 6, 2018 with an official opening slated for Thursday, March 8, 2018.
Synopsis: "A town's proud history, the legend of a local hero, the coveted privilege of reserved parking: nothing is sacred during the town council meeting at the heart of Tracy Lett's new play. This razor-sharp comedy turns from hilarious to chilling as petty policy matters give way to the truth roiling just beneath the surface of the town's historical mythology."
This new play will mark the first time Letts and Shapiro have collaborated on Broadway since August: Osage County for which they both won Tony Awards for Best Play and Best Direction of a Play, respectively.
The Minutes will have its world premiere at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre where it runs from 9 November to 31 December 2017, with an official opening on 19 November.
The production team will include David Zinn (Scenic Design), Ann Roth (Costume Design), and Brian MacDevitt (Lighting Design).
