Tony Awards: Neil Patrick Harris to host
Stage and screen star Neil Patrick Harris will, for the fourth time, host the annual Tony Awards to be held at the Radio City Music Hall on 09 Jun 2013. The 67th annual Tony Awards telecast will air live that evening on CBS (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT).
Neil Patrick Harris said,
I'm very excited to be back hosting the Tony Awards at the legendary Radio City Music Hall. It'll be more impressive than ever-if my math is correct, it will be 267 times bigger than last year. Oh, wait. No, that can't... hold on... carry the one... I'm awful at math. But rest assured, the show will rock!"
As he did in 2012, Harris will also act as a producer, along with executive producers Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment.
Harris is a three-time Emmy Award winner for his guest-starring role on "Glee" and as host of the 2009 and 2011 Tony Awards. He can currently be seen as "Barney Stinson" in the CBS comedy series "How I Met Your Mother," a role which has garnered him two consecutive Golden Globe nominations and four consecutive Emmy Award nominations. Harris was also nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his guest appearance in the TV comedy "Glee".
His Broadway credits are 'Assassins' (Balladeer/Lee Harvey Oswald: 2004), 'Proof' (Hal - replacement: 2000) and 'Cabaret' (Master of Ceremonies: revival 1998).
The 2013 Tony Award nominations were announced on 30 Apr 2013.
