Time Stands Still: actor and playwright Eric Bogosian to make his Broadway debut



Actor and playwright Eric Bogosian (Talk Radio, "Law & Order: CI") has joined the cast of Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming Broadway production of Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Donald Margulies' Time Stands Still, directed by Daniel Sullivan.

Time Stands Still will mark Bogosian's Broadway debut as an actor. He is best known for his work in 'Talk Radio' which he wrote and starred in Off-Broadway. 'Talk Radio' was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and was subsequently turned into an acclaimed film directed by Oliver Stone. Bogosian' acting credits include playing 'Daniel Ross' in the long-running television series "Law & Order: CI." He played 'Satan' in the Public's Off-Broadway production of Stephen Adly Guirgis' play 'The Last Days of Judas Iscariot' directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman.

In Time Stands Still, Bogosian will play 'Richard' the photo editor of photographer 'Sarah,' played by Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Laura Linney.

Bogosian completes the cast which, in addition to Linney, includes Tony Award nominee Brian d'Arcy James and Golden Globe nominee Alicia Silverstone.

James joins the previously announced cast members which include Emmy and Golden Globe winner Laura Linney ('John Adams,' 'Sight Unseen' at MTC) and Golden Globe nominee Alicia Silverstone ('The Graduate' on Broadway, Clueless).

The limited engagement of Time Stands Still opens at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on 28 Jan 2010, following previews from 5 Jan, for a limited engagement running through to 14 Mar 2010.

Time Stands Still: Are we supposed to deny ourselves ordinary happiness because there's misery in the world? James and Sarah (Linney), a journalist and a photographer, have been together for nine years and share a passion for documenting the realities of war. But when injuries force them to return home to New York, the adventurous couple confronts the prospect of a more conventional life.
