Thoroughly Stupid Things or... at Bleecker Street Theater

Whirled Peas Productions present Thoroughly Stupid Things or The Continuous Importance of Being Earnest, by Montserrat Mendez, at the Bleecker Street Theater from 10 - 23 Aug 2008, as part of the New York International Fringe Festival.

Thoroughly Stupid Things or ...: Gwendolen and Cecily are bored housewives; their husbands, Jack and Algernon, respectively, spend too much time at the local men's club. When the club admits its first female member, none other than alluring cabaret singer Bibi LaFlam, the ladies suspect their husbands of infidelity. With the help of Lady Bracknell and Dr. Chausable, Gwendolyn and Cecily go undercover as the newest club members, brother attorneys Ernest and Ernest, to find out exactly what Jack and Algernon have been up to and get more than they bargained for.

Directed by Megan Demarest, Thoroughly Stupid Things or ... features Emma Gordon (Gwendolen Worthing), Amy Forney (Cecily Moncrief), Darrell Glasgow (Jack Worthing), Stephen Laferriere (Algernon Moncrief), Stephanie Lovell (Ms. Prism), Synge Maher (Inspector Raynier), James Edward Becton (Bibi LaFlam), Dean Jones (Merriman/Dr. Chausable) and Justin McKenna (Lady Bracknell).

The creative team includes Montserrat Mendez (sets), Carly Hirschberg (costumes), Drew Vanderburg (lighting) and Matthew Steckler (sound).
