The Workroom' by Jean-Claude Grumberg, at the Manhattan Theatre Source

The Unbound Theatre Company presents The Work Room, by Jean-Claude Grumberg, translated by Daniel A. Stein with Sara O'Connor, at the Manhattan Theatre Source from the 23 - 26 Nov 2005. Presented as part of the ACT FRENCH Festival.

The Work Room: When the Second world war was finally over and the shouts of victory faded, the survivors were left to salvage what they could of their lives. This is a portrait of these survivors - six women and two men - labor desperately in a cramped and airless tailor's workroom as they attempt to sew back together the fragments of their shattered lives in post-war Paris.

The cast for The Work Room, directed by Moni Yakim, features Kristen Cerelli (Marie), Charles E. Gerber (Max), Rick Gifford (Jean), John Grimball (First Presser), Emily Gunyou (Mimi), Anna Guttormsgaard (Simone), Jody Hegarty (Helene), Carla Matero (Gisele), Kevin Orton (Leon), and Jill Van Note (Mme. Laurence).

The Work Room has set design by Shana Albery and lighting by Stephen Arnold.
