The Winslow Boy: Charlotte Parry completes cast
The Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that Charlotte Parry completes cast for their Broadway revival of Terence Rattigan's The Winslow Boy, directed by Lindsay Posner, opening at the American Airlines Theatre on 17 Oct 2013, following previews form 20 Sep 2013, and run through to 01 Dec 2013.
Parry's Broadway credits include 'The Importance of Being Earnest,' 'Coram Boy' and 'The Real Thing.' Off-Broadway she has appeared in 'Look Back in Anger,' 'Equivocation' and 'Howard Katz.' Parry also starred in Sam Mandes' The Bridge Project productions of 'The Cherry Orchard' and 'The Winter's Tale.'
Parry, who will play 'Catherine Winslow,' joins the previously announced Roger Rees, who will star as 'Arthur Winslow,' Zachary Booth as 'Dickie Winslow', Michael Cumpsty as 'Desmond Curry,' Meredith Forlenza as 'Miss Barnes,' Spencer Davis Milford as 'Ronnie Winslow,' Alessandro Nivola as 'Sir Robert Morton,' Stephen Pilkington as 'Fred,' Henny Russell as 'Violet' and Chandler Williams as 'John Watherstone.'
The Winslow Boy: When fourteen year old Ronnie Winslow is sent home from naval college accused of stealing a postal order, his father, Arthur Winslow, determines to prove his son's innocence. Appointing the renowned barrister Sir Robert Morton , Arthur begins a courageous fight to clear his son's name.
The creative team includes Peter McKintosh (Sets and Costumes), David Lander (Lights) and Drew Levy (Sound).
The Winslow Boy premiered in London in 1946 and on Broadway in 1947. This is the first time the play has been revived on Broadway.
Terence Rattigan's work was last seen on the Roundabout stage, and the American Airlines Theatre, in 2011 when Frank Langella starred in 'Man and Boy.'
