The Pirate Queen to begin pre-Broadway run expected on Broadway in 2006 - 2007


Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg�s The Pirate Queen, the new musical from the authors of Les Misérables and Miss Saigon, will play a pre-Broadway, World Premiere engagement in Chicago from the 3 Oct to the 26 Nov 2006.

The musical is expected to arrive on Broadway in the 2006 - 2007 season.

The Pirate Queen is based on the real-life story of the legendary Irish pirate chieftain, Grace O�Malley, who led an extraordinary life as a pirate, chieftain, lover and mother in 16th Century Ireland.

The Pirate Queen has book by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg�s, music by Claude-Michel Schönberg�s and lyrics by Alain Boublil and John Dempsey.

The new musical is directed by Frank Galati and choreographed by Mark Dendy.

The musical has set design by three-time Tony Award-winner Eugene Lee, costume design by two-time Tony Award-winner Martin Pakledinaz, lighting by Kenneth Posner and sound by Jonathan Deans.
