The Overwhelming at the Laura Pels Theatre

The Roundabout Theatre Company presents the American premiere of J.T. Rogers' The Overwhelming, opening at the Laura Pels Theatre on 23 Oct 2007, following previews from 28 Sep and running through to 23 Dec 2007.

The Overwhelming: It's 1994, and when an American family heads to Rwanda to help an old friend in need, each member encounters a very different experience. But they all find trouble in this country on the verge of genocide, where no one is exactly what they seem. Soon, this family unearths unexpected truths about this tiny, troubled nation� and about themselves.

Directed by Max Stafford-Clark, The Overwhelming features Chris Chalk, Ron Cephas Jones, Tisola Logan, Boris McGiver, Owiso Odera, Charles Parnell, Linda Powell, James Rebhorn, Sam Robards, Michael Stahl-David and Sharon Washington.

The design team comprises Tim Shortall (sets), Tobin Ost (costumes), David Weiner (lighting) and Gareth Fry (sound).
