The Open House extends run by one week

Signature Theatre have extended their world premiere production of Will Eno's The Open House by one week, the show will now run through to 30 Mar 2014.

The show opened at the Signature Center's Linney Courtyard on 03 Mar 2014, following previews from 11 Feb 2014, where it was originally scheduled to close on 23 Mar 2014.

The comedy opened to mixed, but mostly good reviews: This is a gem (newyorktheatreguide.com); Mordantly funny but disappointingly hollow (NY Times); So much pungent humor and so many poignant observations (NYDN); Sharply funny (Record).

The Open House 'synopsis' reads, "People have been born into families since people started getting born at all. Playwrights have been trying to write Family Plays for a long time, too. And typically these plays try to answer endlessly complicated questions of blood and duty and inheritance and responsibility. They try to answer the question, "Can things really change?" People have been trying nobly for years and years to have plays solve in two hours what hasn't been solved in many lifetimes. This has to stop."

Directed by Oliver Butler, the cast for The Open House will feature Hannah Bos (Blood Play, Buddy Cop 2), Michael Countryman (Wit, Dancing at Lughnasa), Peter Friedman (The Great God Pan, Twelve Angry Men), Danny McCarthy (Grace, "Killing Kennedy") and Carolyn McCormick ("Law & Order").

The creative team features set design by Antje Ellermann, costumes by Bobby Frederick Tilley II, lighting by David Lander and sound by M.L. Dogg.
