The New Group has now announced complete casting for its upcoming world premiere of Hamish Linklater's The Whirligig, directed by Scott Elliott, which begin previews at The Pershing Square Signature Center's Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre on May 2, 2017, before an official opening on May 21 and a limited engagement through to June 11, 2017.

The complete cast of The Whirligig includes (in alphabetical order) Noah Bean (Patrick), Norbert Leo Butz (Michael), Jon DeVries (Mr. Biacco), Alex Hurt (Greg), Zosia Mamet (Trish), Jonny Orsini (Derrick), Maura Tierney (Kristina) and Grace Van Patten (Julie).

Synopsis: "When, after much time away, Kristina is back in Berkshire County, word spreads fast that she and her ex-husband Michael are caring for their estranged, ailing daughter Julie.  Broken-hearted and giddy with love and confusion, surprising visitors from Julie's complicated past practically trip over each other to reach the young woman they thought they'd lost years before but still feel so deeply connected to. Heartfelt and compassionate, The Whirligig spins a tale of a fractured community weaving a circuitous route back to one another."

The creative team behind The Whirligig features scenic design by Derek McLane, costume design by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Jeff Croiter and sound design by ML Dogg.

The New Group is currently represented off-Broadway by two productions at The Pershing Square Signature Center. Wallace Shawn's Evening at the Talk House continues performances at the Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre through to March 12, 2017, whilst Erica Schmidt's All the Fine Boys continues its run at the Ford Foundation Studio Theatre through to March 26, 2017.
