The Manhattan Theatre Club will present the American premiere of The Lion, the new autobiographical musical written and performed by 2013 ASCAP Cole Porter Songwriting Award winner Benjamin Scheuer, directed by Sean Daniels, opening at New York City Center - Stage II on 26 Jun 2014, following previews from 10 Jun 2014, where it will play a five-week limited engagement.

The Lion: A true story of love, loss, family loyalty, and the redemptive power of music, arrives in NY following earlier runs at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and St. James Theatre in London .

The creative team includes Neil Patel (scenic design), Jennifer Caprio (costume consultant), Ben Stanton (lighting design) and Leon Rothenberg (sound design).
