The Legend of Pearl Hart at the Barrow Group Theatre
LCO Productions presents the new musical, The Legend of Pearl Hart, at the Barrow Group Theatre from the 9 - 24 Jun 2006
The Legend of Pearl Hart chronicles the exploits of Pearl Taylor Hart, a young Canadian woman who, in the 1890's, became famous when she robbed a stage-coach. The resulting press coverage dubbed her 'The Daring Arizona Female Bandit' and made Pearl an overnight media sensation. In her growing fame and notoriety, she attracted the constant scrutiny of the law, male admirers and interest from the suffragette movement which included a jailhouse visit from Emma Goldman.
Pearl's story begins when she elopes with Jack Hart and runs off to 1893 World Columbian Exposition in Chicago. There she sees her first Wild West Show and later careens through a series of adventures in Arizona before ending up as the star of her own vaudeville show in Kansas City.
