'The Itching of the Wings' at PS 122
PS 122 & Act French presents The Itching of the Wings, conceived and directed by Philippe Quesne, at PS 122 from the 9 - 13 Nov 2005.
The Itching of the Wings is an autopsy of our daydreams, in the words of its creator, Philippe Quesne. The show explores the desire of men to become birds, and thus of flying and falling, of desire and disillusion.
The set, an apparent rehearsal space replete with film and video projectors and recording booth, becomes the interactive canvas for a subjective miscellany of sounds and images happened upon in books, recordings, film, internet searches, radio, television, songs, dreams.
A series of interviews with artists and painters, a dental surgeon, a costumer, and philosophy professor plus a visit from a rock band dimensionalize this light-hearted, but altogether serious, polyphony of music, movement, text and image that is a history of the history of art and ideas.
The cast for The Itching of the Wings features Gatan Vourc'h, Sbastien Jacobs, Rodolphe Aut, Tristan Varlot, Zinn Atmane.
