The Field extends by 3 weeks

The Irish Repertory Theater's presentation of the American premiere of The Field, by John B. Keane, extends by three weeks. The production will now play through to the 6 Aug 2006.

The Field opened at the Irish Repertory Theater on the 1 Jun 2006, following previews from the 23 May and was originally scheduled to close on the 16 Jul 2006.

The Field: Bull McCabe, a farmer, has leased four acres of poor land from a widow for five years during which time he nurtured it into prime pasture. Now she wants to sell the land to the highest bidder, and Bull, having invested his time and effort, believes that he has rights to the property. When an 'outsider' from England appears on the day of the auction to offer an unusually high price, Bull decides to take justice into his own hands.

The cast for The Field, directed by Ciarán O�Reilly, features Craig Baldwin, Orlagh Cassidy, Malachy Cleary, Paddy Croft, Karen Lynn Gorney, Brian Henderson, Ken Jennings, Laurence Lowry, Marty McGuire, Paul Nugent, John O'Creagh, and Tim Ruddy.

The show has sets by Charlie Corcoran, costumes by Martha Hally, lighting by Jason Lyons and sound by Zachary Williamson.
