The Children at the Barrow Group Theater

Maffei Productions presents The Children, music by Hal Goldberg, lyrics & book by Stan Richardson, opening at the Barrow Group Theater on 15 Sep 2006, following a preview on 12 Sep and running through to 24 Sep 2006. Part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

The Children: A cloud of radioactive waste turns a school bus full of children into second-rate zombies, who proceed to track down and zap their negligent parents with an irradiated embrace. The social satire elements of the film, such as irresponsible parents, latch-key kids, fears of power plants in suburbia, are all parodied here.

Directed by Tony Speciale, The Children features Mick Bonde (Frank), Heath Calvert (Harry), Maria de Cesare (Cathy), Jermey Ellison-Gladstone (Clarkie/Hank), Jeff Hiller (Molly), Trisha Rapier (Joyce), Jonathan Rayson (John), Megan Reinking (Suzie), Tally Sessions (Billy) and Stephanie Thompson (Dee Dee).

Set design is by Court Watson, with costumes by Jacob A. Climer and lighting by Lucas Benjaminh Krech.
