The 2016 Tony Awards: And the Winners are...

The 70th Annual Tony Awards took place tonight at New York's Beacon Theatre, hosted by Tony winner James Cordon. As predicted, smash hit musical Hamilton dominated the evening, picking up a total of 11 Tony Awards, but failed to break the record of 12 wins previously set by The Producers. As well as being featured during the telecast along with all the other musical nominees, it also had the honour to both open the show (introducing its host) and close the show.
