The 2010 Tony Award winners announced



The 64th Tony Awards winners were presented this evening (13 Jun 2010) at a ceremony hosted by Sean Hayes at Radio City Music Hall.

The biggest winner of this year's Tony Awards is John Logan's Red, which received six awards, including Best Play, followed by the musical rock musical Memphis, which received four awards including Best musical.

The awards for Best actors/actresses saw movie stars walking away with many of the awards: Catherine Zeta-Jones; Denzel Washington and Scarlett Johansson.

Ragtime saw the evenings biggest disappointment, having been nominated in seven categories, the musical walked away empty handed.

**Ragtime: The musical was initially nominated for Best Costume Design: Santo Loquasto. The nomination was later removed by the Tony Award's committee who decided that the costumes were too similar to the earlier 1998 production of Ragtime, that Santo Loquasto also designed.
