'Terrorism' at Theatre Row's Clurman Theatre


The New Group and The Play Company present the American premiere of Terrorism by Vladimir and Oleg Presnyakov - translated by Sasha Dugdale, opening at Theatre Row's Clurman Theatre on the 23 May 2005, following previews from the 9 May, and running through to the 26 Jun 2005

The comedy has six interconnected scenes that tells the story of a society in which an imminent threat looms on the edges of everyday life.

The cast features Adam Alexi-Malle, Alex Draper, Laura Esterman, Anna George, Darren Goldstein, Daniel Oreskes, Elizabeth Marvel, Lola Pashalinski and R.E. Rodgers.

Terrorism is directed by Will Frears, with design by David Korins, costumes by Sarah Beers, lighting by Marcus Doshi and sound by Bart Fasbender.

Terrorism, written by Siberian brothers Vladimir and Oleg Presnyakov, was originally produced at the Moscow Arts Theatre in November 2002. It was subsequently translated by Sasha Dugdale and produced in 2003 by the Royal Court in London and has enjoyed productions throughout Europe.

Biographies:

The Presynakov Brothers, born in Sverdlovsk, Siberia, have taught literary theory and psychology at Gorky Urals State University, where they created the University's Youth Theatre dedicated to producing new and experimental work. They are connected with the new writing project in Russia inspired by the Royal Court and the British Council. Other credits include 'We Shall Overcome', commissioned by the Royal Court and seen as part of the International Playwrights Season 2002, as well as 'Playing the Victim' seen at the Traverse Theater as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (co- produced with the Royal Court) in 2003.

Director Will Frears� Off-Broadway credits include 'Omnium Gatherum' (Variety Arts), 'Where We're Born' (Rattlestick), 'Get What You Need' (Atlantic 453) and 'Kid Simple' (Summer Play Festival).
