' Tales of the Lost Formicans ' at Greenwich Street Theatre

Atolas Theatre Company presents the revival of Tales of the Lost Formicans, by Constance Congdon and directed by Sharon Fogarty, at the Greenwich Street Theatre from the 3 - 13 Mar 2005

A quirky, comedy about aliens and suburban humans, Tales of the Lost Formicans is a play that explores dysfunctional family life, chaos and change.

Cathy, a single mother, recently divorced, has to leave New York to return to her parents� home in the suburbs of Colorado, with her rebellious teenage son in tow, because her father is beginning to lose his mind. Once she arrives there, she encounters a group of unusual characters including: her old childhood friend, a man obsessed with conspiracy theories who is attracted to her, and her own disintegrating family.

Aliens appear throughout the play to narrate and explain the behavior of the humans to the audience.

Tales of the Lost Formicans stars Rhonda Harrington, Terri Mintz, Bill Weeden, Ed Varley, Claude Deering, Michael Dermansky, and Wanda O�Connell.

This is Atolas Theatre Company second full length production. Their first production was a revival of 'Little Egypt' by Lynn Seifert.

Tales of the Lost Formicans was originally produced by Actors Theatre of Louisville in 1989, and then by The Women�s Project in New York City in 1990. Time Magazine called the play, �A travel guide to Middle America conducted by aliens from outer space�If not the best new play of recent years, surely the most imaginative.�

Director Sharon Forgarty is both the founder and artistic director of Making Light (aka Sharon Fogarty Performance Theatre). Sharon�s writing/directing credits include 'Sep�ul-kur', 'Bride of Frankenstein ~ an experiment in intimacy', �heaven�, Next to Nothing, 'The Overdevelopment of Scott', Putnam and dozens of others.
