Stuff Happens extends and has 4 cast changers

The Public Theater's production Stuff Happens, by David Hare, extends for a second time, and is now booking to the 25 Jun 2006 at the Newman Theatre.

The show will also have four cast changes on the 16 May. The Cast changes are:

  • Tony Carlin will replace Armand Schultz (Jonathan Powell, Robin Cook, Ensemble);
  • Reed Birney will replace Byron Jennings (Tony Blair);
  • Sandra Shipley will replace Brenda Wehle (New Labour Politician, Laura Bush, Ensemble);
  • Larry Pine will replace Jeffrey DeMunn (Donald Rumsfeld).
Stuff Happens has recently been nominated for: two Drama Desk Critic nominations - Outstanding Play and Outstanding Director of a Play; one Outer Critics Circle nomination - Outstanding off-Broadway Play; and one Drama League nomination - Distinguished Production of a Play.

Stuff Happens is a play about how and why we went to war in Iraq. The drama brings to the stage an ongoing story of great national and international importance, with characters and dialogue seemingly ripped from today�s headlines. Inspired by actual events, both public and private, that have been authenticated from multiple sources.

Playwright David Hare will be in residence during this production, incorporating new material into the script that speaks to recent political events.

The cast for Stuff Happens, directed by Daniel Sullivan, features George Bartenieff, Jeffrey De Munn, Glenn Fleshler, Zach Grenier, Lameece Issaq, Peter Francis James, Byron Jennings, Ken Marks, David Pittu, Gloria Reuben, Jay O. Sanders, Thomas Schall, Armand Schultz, Robert Sella, Brenda Wehle, and Waleed F. Zuaiter.

The production has set design by Riccardo Hernandez, costumes by Jess Goldstein, lighting by Pat Collins and sound by Dan Moses Schreier.
