Still Life: MCC Theater announce cast



MCC Theater have announced casting for the world premiere of Alexander Dinelaris� Still Life, opening at the Lucille Lortel Theatre from 5 Oct 2009, following previews from 16 Sep and running through to 1 Nov 2009.

Directed by Will Frears, the cast features Dominic Chianese, Halley Feiffer, Ian Kahn, Adriane Lenox, Kelly McAndrew, Sarah Paulson, Matthew Rauch and Frederick Weller.

Still Life: With her star on the rise, photographer Carrie Ann inexplicably shuts down at the pinnacle of her career. Lost, and afraid to even pick up a camera, her sudden descent is interrupted by a whirlwind romance with Jeff, a trend analyst who becomes determined to help her move on, even while facing his own dark future.

The creative team for Still Life includes David Cornis (Scenic Design), Sarah J. Holden (Costume Design), David Weiner (Lighting Design), Fitz Patton (Sound Design) and Michael Friedman (Original Music).

Bios:

Alexander Dinelaris (Playwright) was nominated for a Lucille Lortel (Book & Lyrics) for his work on the off-Broadway hit, 'Zanna, Don't!' His other works include 'The Chaos Theories,' which played to sold out houses at the 2004 New York Fringe Festival and recently received a staged reading which starred Ally Sheedy, Kathleen Chalfant, and Karen Ziemba. Alex has been a script doctor for New Line Cinema.

Will Frears' (Director) Off-Broadway credits: Rainbow Kiss (The Play Company); The Water's Edge (Second Stage); Pen (Playwrights Horizons); Terrorism (The New Group/The Play Company); Omnium Gatherum (Variety Arts); Where We're Born (Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre).

Halley Feiffer's Off-Broadway credits include Second Stage�s productions of 'suburbia,' 'Election Day,' and 'Some Americans Abroad; None of the Above' (Lion Theatre), 'Urgent Fury' (Cherry Lane Theatre), and 'Feiffer�s People' (Blackhouse Productions).

Ian Kahn's regional credits include Baltimore CenterStage: 'Arsenic and Old Lace' (Mortimer Brewster); Media Theater: 'My Fair Lady' (Higgins); Alley Theater: 'Long Days Journey Into Night' (Jaime).

Kelly McAndrew's played 'Maggie' in the Broadway production of 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' (with Ned Beatty and Jason Patric). Her Off-Broadway credis include: 'The Cataract' (The Women's Project) and 'Book of Days' (Signature Theatre).

Matthew Rauch's has appeared on Broadway in 'Prelude to a Kiss.' His Off-Broadway credits include: 'Edward the Second' (Red Bull), '1001' (Page 73), 'Expats' (New Group), 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie' (New Group), 'In the Matter of J. Robert Oppenheimer' (Keen Company), 'The Revenger's Tragedy' (Red Bull), 'Hurlyburly' (New Group) and 'Book of Days' (Signature).

Frederick Weller plays 'Marshall Mann' in the USA Network original series 'In Plain Sight', which premieres at 10/9c on 1 Jun 2009. His Broadway credits are 'Seascape,' 'Glengarry Glen Ross,' 'Take Me Out,' 'The Little Foxes' and 'The Rehearsal.' He was nominated for a Lucille Lortel Award for his appearance in the Off-Broadway production of Neil LaBute�s 'The Shape of Things.'

Dominic Chianese's Broadway credits are 'A Wonderful Life,' 'The Rose Tattoo,' 'Requiem for a Heavyweight,' 'King Richard III,' 'The Water Engine / Mr. Happiness,' 'Scratch' and 'Oliver!' Off-Broadway credits include 'A Second Hand Memory' (Atlantic), 'Much Ado About Nothing' (public), 'Passione' (Playwright Horizons).

Adriane Lenox won the 2005 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her last appearance on Broadway playing 'Mrs. Muller' in 'Doubt' - she won a 2005 Lucille Lortel Award for the same role in the play's Off-Broadway production. In 1998, Lennox won an Obie Award fo her performance in 'Dinah Was.'
