Shear Madness to close off-Broadway on April 23, 2017
Producers of the off-Broadway comedy whodunnit Shear Madness will play its final performance at the Davenport Theatre on April 23, 2017. It was previously booking through to June 30, 2017. Upon closing, the comedy will have played a total of 602 regular performances and 23 previews.
Shear Madness is written by Paul Portner and directed by Bruce Jordan.
Synopsis: "Shear Madness is America's whodunit comedy where the audience gets to solve the crime. Set in a local hair salon that turns into a wacky murder scene, the play is filled with up-to-the-minute humor and is different every time you see it!"
The cast currently includes Jordan Ahnquist (Tony), Kate Middleton (Barbara), Jonathan Randell Silver (Mikey), Patrick Noonan (Nick), Gil Brady (Eddie), and Lisa McMillan (Mrs. Shubert).
Shear Madness features scenic and lighting design by Will Cotton, costume design by Rodney Harper and sound design by Bruce Yauger.
Shear Madness is produced off-Broadway by Manny Kladitis, Jeffrey Chrzczon, Terry Schnuck, Kathleen K. Johnson, Jack Lane, Radio Mouse Entertainment, Schaffert/Hummel, Driemeyer-Sills Productions, Michael Guccione, David Gersten, Erach Screwvala, and The Shubert Organization, by special arrangement with Cranberry Productions.
Shear Madness initially opened at New World Stages on November 11, 2015, following previews from October 22 and ran at the venue until July 10, 2016. It then transferred to the Davenport Theatre, where it re-opened on July 15, 2016.
