RTC announces full cast of Long Day's Journey Into Night

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced complete casting and a new first preview date for its upcoming revival of Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey Into Night at the American Airlines Theatre, which will now begin previews on 3 April 2016 (instead of 31 March), before an official opening on 27 April, and play a limited engagement through to 26 June 2016 as part of Roundabout's 50th Anniversary season.

Directed by Jonathan Kent, Colby Minifie (Cathleen) joins previously announced Oscar and Emmy Award winner Jessica Lange (Mary Tyrone), Golden Globe winner and Tony nominee Gabriel Byrne (James Tyrone), Oscar nominee Michael Shannon (James Tyrone, Jr.), and Tony Award winner John Gallagher Jr. (Edmond Tyrone). Ms Lange will reprise her Olivier-nominated performance from the 2000 West End production.

Colby Minifie previously appeared on Broadway in 'The Pillowman' and off-Broadway in 'Punk Rock' (MCC), 'Close Up Space' (MTC), 'Landscape of the Body' (Signature), and 'City Of' (Playwright's Realm). She also recently had a recurring role in "Marvel's Jessica Jones" on Netflix.

Synopsis: "Elegant in its simplicity yet limitless in its scope, Long Day's Journey Into Night is the tale of an ordinary summer's day with extraordinary consequences. Drawing so heavily from the author's personal history that it could only be produced posthumously, the story of the Tyrone family and their battle to unearth - and conceal - a lifetime of secrets continues to reveal itself to audiences as one of the most profound and powerful plays ever brought to the stage."

The creative team behind Long Day's Journey Into Night has also been announced and features scenic design by Tom Pye, costume design by Jane Greenwood, lighting design by Natasha Katz, and sound design by Clive Goodwin.
