Richard III at the Classic Stage Company

The Classic Stage Company (CSC) presents William Shakespeare's Richard III, starring Michael Cumpsty, opening at the Classic Stage Company Theatre on 13 Nov 2007, following previews from 1 Nov and running through to 9 Dec 2007.

Richard III is the first production of CSC�s 40th anniversary season. Co-directed by Brian Kulick and Michael Cumpsty, the play marks the third straight season the two men have collaborated on a Shakespeare classic at CSC - the previous two collaborations being Hamlet and Richard II. Cumpsty's Broadway credits include: 'The Constant Wife' (2005 revival), 'Democracy' (2004), 'Enchanted April' (2003), '42nd Street' (2001). Televisioin work includes: 'Star Trek Voyager' (Lord Burleigh), 'L.A. Law' (Frank Kittredge), 'All My Children' (Alan Singer).

Richard III: The Duke of Gloucester plots and butchers his way to the throne, murdering his own young nephews in the Tower.

Joining Cumpsty in the cast are Craig Baldwin, Steven Boyer, Philip Goodwin, Chad Hoeppner, Paul Lazar, Roberta Maxwell, KK Moggie, Michael Potts, Maria Tucci and Graham Winton.

The design team comprises Mark Wendland (sets), Oana Ban-Botez (costumes) and Brian Scott (lighting).
