Richard II: Pearl Theatre announces full cast
The Pearl Theatre Company has announced the full cast for its upcoming production of William Shakespeare's Richard II, directed by J.R. Sullivan, opening at NY City Center's Stage II on the 20 Nov 2011, following previews from 8 Nov, and running through to 24 Dec 2011.
Starring the previously announced Sean McNall as Richard II, the cast will also feature Pearl Theatre Company members Jolly Abraham (the Queen and Henry Percy), Robin Leslie Brown (Duchess of Gloucester and Green), Dominic Cuskern (Lord Marshal), Chris Mixon (Earl of Northumberland) and Carol Schultz (Duchess of York).
Joining The Pearl's company members are six guest actors, all making their debut with the company: Wayne T. Carr (Duke of Aumerle), Bill Christ (Edmund, Duke of York), Grant Goodman (Henry Bolingbroke), Simon Kendall (Bushy), Dan Kremer (John of Gaunt) and Charlie Francis Murphy (Bagot).
Richard II charts the descent of one leader and the meteoric rise of another with the crown of England as prize and the future of the nation pitched perilously in the balance.
The Pearl Theatre Company's 28th season began with Ionesco's 'The Bald Soprano,' currently playing at NY City Center's Stage II through to 24 Dec 2011. Following Richard II the season continues with 'The Philanderer' by Bernard Shaw in January 2012, and will conclude with 'A Moon For The Misbegotten' by Eugene O'Neill in March 2012.
