REBEL VERSES: New Works Festival!

Developing Artists Theater Company presents the 5th Annual Rebel Verses: New Works Festival, held at Centre Stage from the 16 - 26 Mar 2005

Devloping artists Theater Company created Rebel Verses 5 years ago to help develop the talent of young playwrights and actors by providing them the opportunity to work in a professional off-off Broadway environment.

Devloping artists Theater Company says "What makes Rebel Verses truly special is that it brings together a variety of community youth organizations to work in concert. The festival unites an underserved segment of the theater community: one that connects teen and young adult artists especially of color - with other artists from the Tri-State area with different levels of experience."

Participants between the ages of 13 - 24 present theatrical works that reflect the issues and emotions tackled by their generation and resonate with a multi-cultural, economically impacted, disenfranchised demographic of the audience. Rebel Verses cultivates an ethnically diverse audience of young theatergoers from the five boroughs, New Jersey and Connecticut.

20 New Works - each piece is performed twice on two different nights.
