Rag Fur Blood Bone at Tribeca Performing Arts Center

Wolf 359 present Rag Fur Blood Bone, by Michael Yates Crowley and directed by Michael Rau, at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center on 28 & 29 Mar 2009.

Rag Fur Blood Bone: The epic of Gilgamesh is preserved on twelve clay tablets, assembled in ancient Mesopotamia by the priest Sin-liqe-unninni. Animals are mentioned once or twice in the early tablets, and then ignored. But three thousand years later, the tablets are falling apart, and animals are taking over the gaps. Set in present-day New York City and ancient Iraq, featuring the goddess Ishtar and police commissioner Bernard Kerik, this is a story of modern cities, ancient battles, homoerotic silences, and men who want to be gods.

The show will be performed by over 20 actors and musicians.

Wolf 359 is director Michael Rau and writer/performer Michael Yates Crowley, both artists in residence at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. They have been working together for over ten years, in Chicago, New York City and overseas. Their most recent show, 'The Ted Haggard Monologues,' based on an evangelical sex scandal, is currently playing to sold-out houses in Germany.
