Queens Boulevard extends by 1 week, now playing to 6 Jan 2008

The Signature Theatre Company has announced a one-week extension for their world premiere production of Queens Boulevard (the musical), by 2007-2008 Playwright-in-Residence Charles Mee.

The production, previously scheduled to end its run on 30 Dec 2007, will now run through to 6 Jan 2008. Previews began on 6 Nov 2007 at The Peter Norton Space. The musical opens this evening (3 Dec 2007).

Queens Boulevard: On his wedding day, a new husband is determined to find the perfect gift for his bride. While she waits at home, he searches for the mythical Flower of Heaven and is thrown into a series of colorful adventures on the streets of his neighborhood in Queens.

Directed by Davis McCallum and choreographed by Peter Pucci, Queens Boulevard features Amir Arison, Satya Bhabha, Michi Barall, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Bill Buell, Demosthenes Chrysan, Geeta Citygirl, Emily Donahoe, William Jackson Harper, Jodi Lin, Arian Moayed, Debargo Sanyal, Jon Norman Schneider and Ruth Zhang.

The design team comprises Mimi Lien (sets), Christal Weatherly (costumes), Marcus Doshi (lighting) and Ken Travis (sounds).
