Primary Stages announces casting for Exit Strategy
Primary Stages has revealed complete casting for the final production of its 2015-2016 off-Broadway season - Exit Strategy, written by Ike Holter and directed by Kip Fagan, which will begin previews at Cherry Lane Theatre on 30 March 2016, before an official opening on 12 April and a limited run through to 6 May 2016.
The cast of Exit Strategy (in alphabetical order) includes Michael Cullen (Arnold), Aimé Donna Kelly (Sadie), Rey Lucas (Luce), Deirdre Madigan (Pam), Christina Nieves (Jania), Brandon J. Pierce (Donnie) and Ryan Spahn (Ricky).
Primary Stages Artistic Director Andrew Leynse released the following statement:
"Exit Strategy is a bold and provocative new play - an intense emotional journey that captures the grit of inner city life and explores who really gets 'left behind' when schools fail. Ike Holter is a compelling new voice in the American theater that demands to be heard."Synopsis: "A fiery, riveting work about the chaotic final days of an urban public high school, Exit Strategy is a taut, edge-of-your-seat drama about the future of public education from a vital new voice in American playwriting."
The creative team has also been announced and features scenic design by Andrew Boyce, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Thom Weaver, and sound design by Daniel Perelstein.
Exit Strategy is produced off-Broadway by Primary Stages in association with Philadelphia Theater Company.
