Political Idol, musical revue at the Triad Theatre
Freedom Toast presents Political Idol, conceived by Marc Emory, opening at the Triad Theatre on 6 Nov 2007, following previews from 30 Oct and running through to 18 Dec 2007.
Political Idol: Armed with irreverence, wit, and spot-on impressions of Hillary, Obama, Giuliani, and George W., a quartet of seasoned entertainers turn familiar songs into show-stopping political parodies.
The show features more than a dozen lyrically altered songs, from "Wholl Stop McCain" (Wholl Stop the Rain) to "Giuliani," the former mayors salute to both himself and the Dean Martin standard, "Thats Amore." Other stand-outs include "Were Bringin' Ronnie Back (Sexy Back) and "Whats Bill Got to Do With It," Hillarys version of the Tina Turner classic.
Directed by Julie Blanciak, Political Idol features Lara Buck, Enga Davis, Joseph DiSalle and Robert Yarnall.
