Paint Your Wagon: set in Northern California in 1853 where Ben Rumson and his daughter Jennifer accidentally discover gold. As Rumson Town fills with hard-bitten miners, young Jennifers feminine presence creates a discomfort only minimally relieved when a Mormon, Jacob Woodling, and his two wives arrive. Jennifer is sent back East to school and her innocent love affair with the towns only Mexican, Julio, is unable to flourish. She returns to a ghost town, a father abandoned by his purchased wife and the patient Julio. A simpler existence is in the offering until Ben is struck with gold fever one last time.
