Our Town: Jason Butler Harner assumes the role of 'Stage Manager' from David Cromer

Obie Award-winner Jason Butler Harner assumes the role of �Stage Manager� in the Off-Broadway production of� Thornton Wilder�s Our Town, directed by David Cromer, on 25 Aug 2009.

Harner succeeds David Cromer who has departed the company to begin rehearsals for his Broadway directorial debut this fall with Neil Simon�s 'Brighton Beach Memoirs' and 'Broadway Bound.'

Jason Butler Harner played the role of 'Ivan Turgenev' in the multi-Tony award-winning Tom Stoppard trilogy of plays, 'The Coast of Utopia '(Lincoln Center Theatre). In 2005 he wwon an Obie Award for his performance as 'Tesman' in 'Hedda Gabler,' opposite Elizabeth Marvel (New York Theatre Workshop).

Our Town opened at the Barrow Street Theatre on 26 Feb 2009, following previews from 17 Feb, where it is now booking through to 31 Jan 2010.

The show opened to mostly positive reviews: "modest but highly rewarding" (NY Times); 'riveting new production' (NY Daily News); 'wonderful' (NY Post); "Astonishingly reinvented" (AP).
