OBIE Awards 2006 - 2007 - Lansbury and others to present awards.


Five presenters of the 52nd Annual Village Voice OBIE Awards have been announced. The awards ceremony will be held at the The Skirball Center at NYU on 21 May 2007.

The five presenters named are Angela Lansbury, Anika Noni Rose, Jess L. Martin, Julie White and Stephanie March.

The OBIE Awards are Off-Broadway's highest honor, created in 1955 by Jerry Tallmer. The 2006 - 2007 OBIE Awards are the awards 52nd anniversary.

The award event will be an irreverent ceremony honoring the Off & Off-Off Broadway Theater Community for the 2006-2007 season. Cash Grants for artistic excellence & playwriting will also be awarded.

This year's panel of judges for the Obie Awards include Michael Feingold (chairman), Kirsten Childs, Anne Dennin, Ain Gordon, Jeremy McCarter, Adam Rapp and Alexis Soloski.

There are no nominations or categories for the Obie Awards.
