Nickel and Dimed at Bank Street Theater


3Graces Theater Co presents Nickel and Dimed, by Joan Holden and directed by Dave Dalton, based on the book Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich, at the Bank Street Theater from 5 - 28 Oct 2006.

Presented in repertory with Neglect by Sharyn Rothstein.

Nickel and Dimed features the character of Barbara Ehrenreich, a journalist who is given an assignment to try to live as a woman working minimum wage jobs for a month. Barbara tackles the job, traveling to three different cities to find housing and employment � as a nursing home worker, waitress, housecleaner, and store employee. The play asks can a middle-aged, middle-class white woman make it on minimum wage in middle America?

Set design by Victoria Roxo, with costumes by Veneda Truesdal and lighting by Anjeanette Stokes.
