Next Fall extends once again, now playing through to 8 Aug
Naked Angels world premiere presentation of Geoffrey Nauffts' Next Fall has announced a third extension. The production will now run through to 8 Aug 2009
The production opened at Playwrights Horizons / Peter Jay Sharp Theater on 3 Jun 2009, following previews from 26 May and was originally scheduled to end its run on 21 Jun 2009. The show had recently announced that it would definately close on 11 Jul 2009.
Barbara Manocherian, one of the plays producers, stated, Due to the extraordinary demand for tickets, we have made some special last-minute arrangements to once again extend the plays world premiere engagement Off-Broadway. The response to Next Fall has simply been overwhelming.
The play opened to good reviews: "a shining star" (newyorktheatreguide.com); "stinging breeziness of a cosmopolitan comedy." (NYTimes); "surprisingly hilarious" (NY Post); "thoroughly captures the attention." (Back Stage); "potent piece of political theater" (Variety).
Next Fall chronicles the five-year relationship of Adam and Luke as they grapple with their respective demons. Timely and compelling, the play places the current Prop 8 controversy in a human context by examining what it means to 'believe' in this day and age, and what it might cost us not to.
Directed by Sheryl Kaller, Next Fall features Patrick Breen, Maddie Corman, Sean Dugan, Patrick Heusinger, Connie Ray and Cotter Smith.
Set design is by Wilson Chin, costume design is by Jessica Wegener, lighting design is by Jeff Croiter and sound design is by Bart Fasbender.
