New York Spectacular announces additional casting
The Madison Square Garden Company has announced additional casting for New York Spectacular starring The Radio City Rockettes, directed and choreographed by Mia Michaels, which opens at Radio City Music Hall on 15 June 2016 and will play a limited engagement through to 7 August 2016.
Jenna Ortega and Lilla Crawford will share the role of Emily in the production.
Ms Ortega is perhaps best known for her TV roles on the Disney Channel's "Stuck in the Middle", on CW's "Jane the Virgin," and on Netflix's "Richie Rich." Ms Crawford has previously starred on Broadway in the title role of 'Annie' in 2012 and as Debbie in 'Billy Elliot' in 2011. She also made her film debut as Little Red Riding Hood in Disney's "Into the Woods."
They will join The Radio City Rockettes, as well as Tony nominee Euan Morton (Mercury), Jacob Ben Widmar (The Mad Hatter), Vincent Crocilla (Jacob), Danny Gardner (George M. Cohan/Dad), Blaine Alden Krauss (Busker), Kecia Lewis (Busker), Jeff Pew (Wall Street Bull) and Kacie Sheik (Alice in Wonderland/Mom).
Written by Douglas Carter Beane, New York Spectacular, the show "celebrates New York City in the summertime centered around the trip of a lifetime for two kids, who, while on a vacation in New York, are separated from their parents. The city magically comes to life to show them its many splendid wonders and helps to reunite their family in the end."
The creative team features lighting design by Alain Lortie and video design by Moment Factory.
