New lineup added to BroadwayHD for April, including ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ documentary

Additional streams will be added from April 1.

The streaming service BroadwayHD has confirmed new productions to stream next month. Six shows will be added to the online service, celebrating Easter at the start of April and William Shakespeare's birthday on April 23.

New productions, listed in date order include:

Irving Berlin's Easter Parade: Fred Astaire, Ann Miller and Judy Garland star in the 1940s musical film, which follows a protegee becoming a star in time for the seasonal event. Easter Parade features songs including "Stepping Out With My Baby" and "We're a Couple of Swells". Available from April 1.

Fiddler: Miracle of Miracles: Chronicling the entire Fiddler on the Roof story, the documentary examines the timeless musical, recently performed in Yiddish at Studio 42. From original ideas to archival footage, there's interviews from Joel Grey, Topol and Stephen Sondheim, as well as conversations with Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick. Available from April 3.

The Container: Staged in a shipping container outside London's Young Vic Theatre, Clare Bayley's political drama told of asylum seekers who seek refuge in England. Available from April 6.

Merely Marvelous: The Dancing Genius of Gwen Verdon: Her legacy is felt in Broadway choreography. Her performances in Sweet Charity and Chicago are still remembered today. The documentary tells of Verdon's life both on and off stage, thanks to contributions from family members and fellow cast members from across the years. Available from April 15.

[Title of Show] - Filmed at the London Coliseum in 2020, [Title of Show] tells of creatives trying to write the next smash hit musical. Lucie Jones, Marc Elliott, Tyrone Huntley, Jenna Russell and Ben Ferguso star, available to watch from April 22.

Shakespeare's Women and Claire Bloom: Shakespeare fans rejoice! Claire Bloom takes audiences through the Bard's work, introducing heroines like Ophelia in Hamlet and Lady Constance in King John. Available from April 29.
