Is there a Russian Revolution on the Great White Way? As the Broadway Theatre prepares for the opening of Doctor Zhivago on 21 April 2015, the rumor mill is indicating that another Russian romance might well be Broadway-bound.

According to the New York Times, Howard Dagan, one of the producers of the musical Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 has stated that he intends to open the production on the Great White Way in the near future.

Synopsis: "Based on a most scandalous chapter of Leo Tolstoy's Russian masterpiece 'War and Peace,' Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 tells the story of a young girl named Natasha, who is betrothed to Andrey, though he's off at war. In his absence, Natasha strikes up a relationship with the attractive Anatole, whose rebellious nature causes Andrey's best friend Pierre to be on alert to the budding romance."

Dave Malloy's off-Broadway production of Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812, directed by Rachel Chavkin, has enjoyed runs Ars Nova (2012), Kazino (2013) and the Theater District (2013).

The cast included David Abeles (Pierre), Brittain Ashford (Sonya), Blake DeLong (Bolkonsky/Andrey), Amber Gray (Helene), Nick Choksi (Dolokhov), Grace McLean (Marya D), Ashkon Davaran (Balaga), Phillipa Soo (Natasha), Lucas Steele (Anatole) and Shaina Taub (Princess Mary).
