Narrator 1, by Erin Browne, at the Lion Theater

The Iron Jaw Theatre Company will present the world premoere of Erin Browne's Narrator 1, opening at Theatre Row's Lion Theater on 12 May 2011, following previews from 11 May, and running through to 29 May 2011.

Directed by Kitty Lindsay, Narrator 1 Ryan Andes, Rachael Hip-Flores, Marco Formosa, Colleen Huley, Kyle Kirkpatrick, Matthew Murumba and Cotton Wright.

Narrator 1: Zara and Dan are two writers facing a crisis somewhere between mid and quarter life. These two seem-to-be-perfect-for-each-other friends could come together but their written creations - some pesky narrators, some teens in love, and a mysteriously haiku spouting man - have the potential to keep them apart. Can they get past their own romantic hang-ups to find each other through time and the streets of New York, or will they continue to flail in their own imaginations?

Erin Browne (Playwright) has written the full-length plays 'A Meth Play,' 'Coffee/Lovelorn,' 'Devil to Pay,' 'Hence,' 'Menders,' 'Narrator 1,' 'Not As of Yet,' 'Return' and 'Trying.' 'Trying' was produced at the Bushwick Starr last year and will be published in New York Theater Review. A radio play version of 'Tryin'g was the winner of the BBC World Service International Radio Play Contest and was broadcast on BBC World Service; it was also shortlisted for the Richard Imison Award from the Writers' Guild of Great Brittan.

Kitty Lindsay (Director) is an actor, writer, director and stand-up comic in New York City. She is also a co-founder and administrator of two Manhattan-based theater companies: Iron Jaw Company and The Shelter. Previous directing credits include August Schulenberg's 'One Night' (Equalogy, Inc.), Eve Ensler's 'The Vagina Monologues' (The Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, Asst. Director), Stefanie Lee Coren's 'Studio 356' and Eugene Turonis' 'No Tengo Ni Mango' (The Gene Frankel Theatre as part of The Shelter Presents: 3:56am) as well as Beth Jastroch's Feliz 'Navi-New Dad' (The WorkShop Theater MainStage, as part of The Shelter Presents: F***ing Christmas). Kitty has also directed her own plays including a production of 'Return to the Island of Misfit Toys' (The WorkShop Theater MainStag).
