Musicals Tonight! Inc, launch their 2005 - 2006 season with a revival of The High Life, music by Arthur Schwartz, lyrics by Howard Dietz and book by Fay & Michael Kanin, at the 45th Street Theatre from the 18 - 30 Oct 2005.
The High Life has determined bachelor Anatol succumbing to the whiles of the enchanting Liesl in the Vienna of 1904. The show premiered on Broadway in 1961 as 'The Gay life' and starred Walter Chiari as Anatol abd Barbara Cook as Liesl. Songs include: "I�m Glad I�m Single," "Magic Moment," "Who Can? You Can?," "Why Go Anywhere at All," and "I�m Ready for a Frau."
Good News, by Henderson, DeSylva and Brown, takes us back to the ingenuousness of the 1920's on college campuses. Football mad Tait College�s star is flunking astronomy until he falls for his tutor. The musical premiered on Broadway in Sep 1927 where it ran for two years and was followed by a hit movie. Songs include: "The Best Things in Life are Free," " Good News," "Lucky in Love," "The Varsity Drag," and "Just Imagine."
Good News will play at the 45th Street Theatre from the 1 - 13 Nov 2005.
Mademoiselle Modiste, by Victor Herbert, is about Fifi, a shop girl, who becomes a stage star, the toast of Paris, and ultimately weds her beloved - in spite of the opposition of his aristocratic uncle. The musical premiered on Broadway in Dec 1905 when the role of Fifi was played by Fritzi Scheff. Songs include: "The Time, The Place," "The Girl," "Kiss Me Again," "When The Cat�s Away," "The Mascot of The Troop," "Hats Make The Woman," and "I Want What I Want When I Want It."

Oh, Lady! Lady!!, by Jerome Kern, P.G. Wodehouse, and Guy Bolton, was the second, and final, Princess Theatre Musical written (opened on Broadway in Jan 1918) by these three creators. The bridegroom�s old flame arrives unexpectedly on his wedding day and the nuptials are called off - but only long enough for a second act set in Greenwich Village to solve all. It romanticized the lives of aspiring theatre people and originally starred Ruby Keeler, Eddie Foy, Jr. and Jimmy Durante. Songs include: "Bill," "Not Yet," "When Ships Come Home," "Greenwich Village," "Little Nest." "

Let's Face It, Let�s Face It, by Cole Porter and Dorothy & Herbert Fields, has three suspicious wives recruiting three eager soldiers to help make their philandering husbands take notice. The show opened on Broadway in Oct 1941. Danny Kaye as Jerry Walker and Eve Arden as Maggie Watson kept the show running for 547 performances as did the songs - "Farming," "You Irritate Me So," "Ace in the Hole," "Let�s Not Talk About Love," "A Little Rumba Numba," and "Melody in 4F."
