'Mushroom In Her Hands' at the Sande Shurin Theatre

Jessi Gotta as 'Alice' and Reed Prescott as 'The Cheshire Cat'

The Milk Can Theatre Company presnts Mushroom In Her Hands by Anne Phelan, playing at the Sande Suurin Theatre from the 29 Apr - 15 May 2005

Synopsis: Lewis Carroll was the pseudonym adopted by the Oxford don and Anglican deacon Charles Lutwidge Dodgson who once famously said, 'I am fond of children (except boys).' Dodgson was friendly with many little girls, often taking eerily adult photographs of them. In this new play, the playwright Anne Phelan takes episodes from the novel, and reinvents them as speculation on what the relationship between Dodgson and the real Alice Liddell might have been.

The cast features Jessi Gotta, Daryl Lathon, Carolyn McDermott, and Reed Prescott

Mushroom In Her Hands is directed by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, with design by Cully Long, costumes by Marija Djordjevic, lighting by Kevin Hardy and original music by Nick Moore.
